They’ve blamed the disease… and they’ve blamed YOU.
If you have diabetes, the mainstream not only says it’s all your fault…
They say that YOU brought on all of the other problems that often come along with it, including memory loss and brain fog.
But new research exposes the REAL problem:
It’s not you…
The very drug they’ll give you to “control” the disease is rotting your brain – setting you up for memory loss, cognitive decline and worse.
And now, new research exposes the TRUE cause. It’s those meds. And that means we also have a way to STOP it.
Common diabetes med linked to cognitive decline
The problem is with a drug nearly everyone with diabetes already knows: metformin.
It’s the “starter drug” for the disease – the first med patients are given for blood sugar control soon after being diagnosed.
Many stay on it for years… even decades… never realizing the quiet damage that’s taking place inside the body.
But it’s out in the open now…
The new study finds people with diabetes who take metformin are much more likely to suffer a cognitive slowdown.
They’re a third more likely to battle cognitive dysfunction, based on at least two different tests. That puts them at risk for cognitive decline and – eventually – dementia, a condition so closely linked to the disease, it’s often called “type 3 diabetes.”
And while the diabetes itself – and the damage of high blood sugar in the brain – certainly contributes to dementia, the new study proves there’s also something else at work…
Yes, once again, the very drugs that are supposed to “save” you can RUIN you instead.
The new study finds the reason for the link, and it’s one of the drug’s most notorious side effects. It can sap you of essential vitamin B12, a nutrient that’s critical to muscle, nerve and brain function.
But there’s the problem.
See, as long as you stay on the metformin, your B12 levels will continue to sink… making it essential that you take B12 supplements on a regular basis.
That’s why it’s better to work your way off the drug instead – and you can do it, too.
Tweak your diet to eliminate refined and processed foods, especially sugars, and then consider supplements such as gymnema extract. In one study, 400 mg per day cut blood sugar levels so effectively that many patients were able to reduce their meds (and some were able to quit).
Another great option is berberine. As I shared on my YouTube channel, berberine nearly matched metformin over two months in one clinical study. It can also help with insulin, cholesterol, triglycerides and even weight loss.
