Nothing can ruin your day quite like living in fear of your meals – and not just because Brussels sprouts are on the menu.
Millions of seniors are quietly suffering from a problem that gets no attention at all… but can turn dinnertime into a nightmare.
It’s a condition where you have a constant sensation of food being stuck in your throat.
You feel like you’re about to choke…
Except you’re NOT choking – just having enough difficulty swallowing your food that itfeels likeit’s about to happen.
And for some, it’s even worse. That same problem can lead to chest pain that feels like a heart attack –except it’s not a heart attack.
Sometimes, these problems are caused by something that needs immediate attention, like damage in the esophagus or even a tumor forming there.
But in most cases, doctors find nothing wrong at all– and they’ll say you just have to “learn to live with it.”
Now, new research shows how you DON’T have to live with it; you can get quick relief and enjoy your meals once again.
And the secret… is to START your meals with something that usually ENDS it!
A treatment that’s NOT hard to swallow
New research finds simple peppermint candies before a meal can lead to easier swallowing and less non-cardiac chest pain.
In the study, seniors with one or both of those conditions were given a couple of pieces of peppermint candy to suck on before meals.
This wasn’t as random as it sounds; the candies were made with real peppermint oil, which is known to relax the muscles in the esophagus and ease digestion.
And it worked like a charm, delivering quick relief from both of these debilitating conditions.
Nearly two-thirds of folks with non-cardiac chest pain reported relief thanks to the candies, along with 53 percent of those who had previously reported difficulty swallowing.
And in people who had both problems, THREE out of FOUR got much-needed relief from those awful symptoms.
The researchers are planning a new study to test peppermint against a placebo, but if you have your own struggles swallowing and/or with chest pain from food – and your doc can’t find anything wrong – there’s no reason not to give it a shot yourself!
The study used plain old peppermint candies that you can get in any store. The volunteers took two before meals.
Take one after, and you’ll have fresh breath too.
